Palm Beach Institute of Sports Medicine

Dr. Burkart has joined the practice of Dana Van Pelt MBA, PT, ATC at the Palm Beach Institute of Sports Medicine in Boca Raton, Florida. Our practice is located in the Florida Atlantic University Research Park - 1348 FAU Blvd, Suite 105, Boca Raton, FL 33431. In our new setting, we combine our efforts to provide excellence in clinical practice, education, and research. Dr. Burkart brings his 40 years of academic and clinical experience to the Institute to coordinate their research and educational programs as well as provide direct patient care services.

Jermaine Brantley conducts performance assessments and individualized training sessions at PBISM utilizing integrated kinetic systems. Identification of movement related disorders and performance deficits, from activities of daily living to high level sports activities, are used to design training strategies for improved performance.

Functional Rehabilitation and the Feldenkrais Method

Dr. Burkart provides home rehabilitation services for “selected” patients with orthopedic and neurologic impairments utilizing the Feldenkrais Method, task specific training techniques and/or functionally integrated physical therapy procedures.  A medical prescription and cash payment is required as insurance coverage is not accepted.
