Sandy L. Burkart PT, OCS, PhD
Dr. Burkart's full-time private practice,
teaching and consulting primarily focus upon functional rehabilitation. His
work integrates the
neuromechanical sciences with
physical therapy and the Feldenkrais Method to
create functionally based evaluations and treatment protocols. He received
his Physical Therapy degree in 1967 from the University
of Pennsylvania, his Ph.D. in
Anatomy from West Virginia
University in 1977, and
his Feldenkrais certification in 1991.
Dr. Sandy L. Burkart is a recognized national and international speaker,
having delivered more then 250 workshops, presentations, and teleconferences
nationally and internationally on orthopedic, neurologic and functional rehabilitation, manual therapy
and the theory and application of the Feldenkrais
Method. Dr. Burkart has been honored for his
teaching excellence by the Amerian Physical Therapy
Association’s Section of Orthopedic Physical
Therapy and by Florida
Atlantic University.
Dr. Burkart has continued his education with more than 2000 hours in Advanced
Spinal Mobilization Techniques, Segmental Spinal Stabilization Strategies,
Functional Mobilization, Mobilization and Movement, Trager,
Rolfing, Movement Science, Motor Control and Motor Learning, Vestibular
Rehabilitation, Balance Retraining, PNF, Myofascial
Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Somatoemotional
Unwinding, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Cumulative Trauma Syndromes, Chronic
Regional Pain Syndromes, Neurotension Testing,
